Policy Information

Post-Sale Inspection Guidelines

Most vehicles will have their Post Sale Inspection (PSI) completed on Sale Day. Both Buyer and Seller will be informed of the outcome of this process.

As a professional used car buyer, you must expect that vehicles purchased at NEPA AA may have imperfections and may require repairs to bring them to retail-ready condition.

Although NEPA AA may not disclose in the condition report all items subject to normal wear and tear, these items should be considered normal and reasonable for any wholesale vehicle auction purchase. Therefore, such issues are not eligible for arbitration claims.

Cold Engine Start Procedure

NEPA AA reserves the right to hold certain vehicles overnight to perform a Cold Engine Start procedure on the morning following Sale Day.

Every effort will be made to complete this process as early as possible. Both Buyer and Seller will be notified promptly of any concerns discovered during this procedure.

EV & Hybrid Vehicles Policy

NEPA AA will offer a SALE DAY ONLY Post-Sale Inspection (PSI) on any EV or Hybrid vehicles sold under the Green Light.

There will be NO 7-Day / 200-Mile Guarantee on these vehicles.

7-Day Arbitration Policy (Online Sales)

Under our 7-Day Arbitration Policy for online sales, it is the purchaser’s sole responsibility to return the vehicle within the 7-day period.

NEPA AA will not be responsible for transportation to or from the purchaser’s location under the 7-day arbitration policy.

New Seller’s Policy

Selling dealers may choose to sell their vehicles Green Light, regardless of age or mileage.

If the buyer identifies an arbitrable issue, the seller is responsible for buying the vehicle back.

The 7-Day Policy applies to mechanical and frame issues only and shall not exceed 200 miles from the time of sale, whether or not the vehicle went through a Post-Sale Inspection (PSI).

We strongly advise that vehicles over 10 years old or with over 130,000 miles be sold “AS IS.”

NAAA Membership & Local Policies

We are proud members of the National Auto Auction Association; however, several local NEPA AA auction rules apply in key areas of our operation.

Please visit our website at www.nepautoauction.com or stop into the Arbitration Office for a complete list of policies and procedures that we enforce which may differ from NAAA guidelines.

General Policies:

1. Fair and Ethical Sale:

  • The auction aims to ensure fair and ethical treatment for both buyers and sellers.

  • The auction reserves the right to cancel a sale if it determines that it is not fair and ethical, at its sole discretion.

  • Federal, state, and local laws take precedence over these policies where applicable.

2. Auction Role in Sale:

  • The auction does not make any representations or guarantees about vehicles sold or offered for sale.

  • The sales contract is solely between the seller and the buyer; the auction is not a party to this contract.

  • All vehicle transactions must be processed through the auction office, and failure to do so can result in the suspension of trading privileges.

  • The auction has the right to review audio/video documentation to verify the accuracy of a sale.

  • Vehicles consigned with the auction may be subject to government inspection, with or without prior notice, by various government or quasi-governmental agencies.

3. Auction VIN Policies:

  • All vehicles consigned must have a visible public Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) plate attached to the vehicle by the manufacturer or a state inspector.

  • Vehicles with a reassigned VIN plate by the state must be announced or may face sale cancellation or buyer return.

  • The auction reserves the right to refuse the sale of any vehicle if the VIN plate appears to be altered in any way.

These policies are designed to ensure transparency, fairness, and compliance with legal requirements in the auction of vehicles. It's important for both buyers and sellers to be aware of these policies when participating in auctions to ensure a smooth and ethical transaction process.
